Showtime…Some Turning of the Sod Photos… Kilbride GAA Club House
What a great morning for all in Manor Kilbride, the Club House has finally started…
The man that did the honours and turned the sod on the new Club House this morning was none other that the legendary Jimmy Clarke who is the current Club President. Well done Jimmy, a very proud Kilbride man!
And great to see our local representatives, TD Steven Mathews and Club idols from the Wicklow Millenium Football team and two time Kilbride Senior team from the 60’s, Tommy and Peter Clarke.
Thanks to all who attended including local councillors: Edward Timmins, Vincent Blake, Avril Cronin, Patsy Glennon and TD Steven Matthews.
A number of politicians including Simon Harris, Jennifer Whitmore and Gerry O’Neill sent their apologies and best wishes to the Club but unfortunately had prior engagements.
The political and community support has been immense.
Special mention to Ethel Miley who kindly sponsored the official spade which did the honours this morning. As some may be aware Seamus Miley played for Kilbride and the Senior Football Championship Trophy proudly honours the Miley family’s strong ties to Wicklow GAA.
The spade will be framed and will adorn the new Club House hopefully by the end of the year. Thank you to Ethel Miley.
Thanks to Jack Hughes and Grace Haughian in the Coffee Shop who worked tirelessly this morning. Well done.
Finally, we wish Colm Toomey the very best with the build.
