St Kevin’s & Kilbride GAA (Cill Bhride CLG) – Juvenile Teams & Kilbride Juvenile Ladies
As you may be aware Kilbride are synched with St Kevin’s at Juvenile Level. St Kevin’s is made up of three Club’s; Kilbride, Valleymount and Hollywood.
Typically from Under 13 to Under 17 (3 age groups, 13/15/17) St Kevin’s will field teams representing players from all three Club’s mentioned above.
The simple reality is that none of the rural villages on their own are able to field an individual Juvenile team from U13 to U17 and so, the best approach is to merge the three Club’s resources together to produce one rural Club representing all three villages – St Kevin’s.
The location of training and matches will depend on a number of factors including: Pitch Availability, Location of Traveling Team, Management of Team and the breakdown of player location.
Last year was an extremely successful one for Kilbride with more and more St Kevin’s training sessions and matches being played in Kilbride. I envisage this trend will continue with our pitch now professionally drained and our facilities improving at a significant rate. Our Club House construction is due to start in March and the plan is to complete our All Weather Pitch by October this year.
So, home matches and training can be in either one of three locations any week, Hollywood, Valleymount or Kilbride.
St Kevin’s has its own Committee and I as the Chairman of Kilbride am a member of the St Kevin’s Committee. The Committee ratifies Management Teams every year, addresses any issues, undertakes fundraising and other day to day GAA activities to ensure the sucessful running of the Club. The Club’s official email address is: Secretary.stkevins.wicklow@gaa.ie if you have any queries.
Your Club Membership is NOT paid to St Kevin’s but to Cill Bhride CLG, your child is officially a member of the Cill Bhride CLG Club. Membership must be paid prior to any training or matches in 2024, otherwise you are not insured against injury.
Juvenile Kilbride Ladies
Rules are somewhat different for Cill Bhride Girls, rules are administrated under the LGFA. From Under 12’s to 17, Kilbride Girls have the option to join under permission either Valleymount Girls or Blessington Girls. You must complete a LGFA Juvenile Permission form in order to play for either team, which you can download below. As with St Kevin’s, annual membership is paid to Cill Bhride LGFA.
From the age of 15, the Kilbride Girls are allowed to play with the Kilbride Ladies Adult Team in the League while also playing Girls Juvenile with either Valleymount or Blessington. Kilbride Girls cannot play in any adult competitions with the permission Club, only Juvenile competitions.
If you email info@kilbridegaa.com we can email you a copy of the Juvenile Permission Form to complete or you can download the form here, complete, scan and email it back to: info@kilbridegaa.com or Cillbhride.wicklow@lgfa.ie and the Club will forward to Wicklow LGFA Administrators.
